Elderberry Syrup - Elderberries have been used all over the world for centuries as natural remedy for colds, flus, congestion, and stomach aches. Modern day research shows that elderberries are packed with antioxidants and vitamins and may be helpful in boosting our immune system.

Lightly sweetened, a dash of fresh lemon juice

Elderflower Syrup (Cordial) is great in cocktails, sodas, and desserts. Try adding it to sparkling wine, sparkling water, or drizzled over ice cream.

Carmel Berry Company was created in 2015 by Katie and Ben Reneker, both enthusiasts of gourmet food, sustainable agriculture, and nutrition.  Located in Carmel Valley, California, we handcraft our small batch syrups and cordials using the highest quality ingredients in order to meet our exacting standards of local, sustainable, and delicious.

Elderberry Sour

4 oz. rye whiskey or bourbon

1.5 oz. fresh lemon juice

1.5 oz. Elderberry Syrup

10 shakes of citrus bitters

Shake all ingredients except bitters with ice in a cocktail shaker. Strain into two glasses with ice, add bitters, divided, garnish with lemon peel.

Elderflower soda

A refreshing low sugar crowd pleaser

1 L Soda Water

3 - 3.5oz. Elderflower Syrup

2 wedges fresh lemon

1 sprig fresh mint

In a pitcher full of ice add soda water and Elderflower Syrup. Squeeze the lemon, muddle the mint. Add them, stir gently but well. Adjust sweetness. Pour into waiting cups filled with ice. Serves 4-6.
